A Little Pick-Me Up Picnic

The past two days have been tough. A viral infection has John feeling pretty miserable, and he is taking breathing treatments throughout the day. Our ClassCee camper, which we were going to pick up today, ended up being wrong for us. Luckily we figured this out BEFORE driving 2 1/2 hours to pick it up.

Our spirits were pretty low.

Well….after sulking for most of the day we finally decided…. enough of that…. time to get back on track!

Life is for living, and it’s for living in the best way that you can in the current moment. We packed into the car, went to a local favorite spot and had a picnic! The fresh air felt wonderful! We had the area to ourselves. John got to go four-wheeling in his wheelchair, AND, I got to use my nerdy travel kitchen!

There she is, in all of her glory. My travel kitchen! She has everything that you could need to cook almost anything from almost anywhere. Go ahead and ask.

Yes, I have a vegetable peeler.

Of course I have dishsoap!

And spices? I have seven… well nine if you count the salt and pepper.

What? You want to know if I have a can opener, um… YES!

Paper towel, cutting board, coffee pot, real mugs, silverware AND steak knifes. This thing is loaded, and I love it.

We also got to hear the sound of our camp stove and smell the gas as our hot dogs cooked. Can you see my travel kitchen behind the stove? She sits so obediently! We ate hot dogs, some watermelon and strawberries while watching our little girls swim. We didn’t stay long, but the time we spent there set our souls right again.

Finally, as we drove home from our little adventure, we spotted the cutest family of geese.

There was a daddy, a mamma, and four goslings, just like our family!

Tomorrow we start the new search for our ClassCee chemo camper. But first I have to put in the window AC unit. It’s going to be a scorcher, folks!
